Our Story
My name is Adam Miller
Diagnosed, but Not Defined
In 1992, I was diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome. Like many others, I grew up navigating not only the symptoms, but also the stigma, misunderstandings, and challenges that come with it. Over time, I learned that Tourette’s does not define who I am — instead, it became a part of my story that I could use to help others.
A Love for Ghostbusters
Alongside this journey, I developed a lifelong love of Ghostbusters. The humor, the creativity, and the message of a group of ordinary people standing up to something extraordinary always spoke to me. In cosplay, I found a way to combine my fandom with fun, creativity, and community.
A Mission to Bust the Specter of Stigma
That’s why I created the Wachusett Ecto Squad: a cosplay group with a cause. Our mission is simple — to “bust the specter of stigma” around Tourette Syndrome, while raising awareness and funds for the Tourette Association of America.
We believe in inclusion, creativity, and pride in who we are — values that reflect both the Tourette community and the Ghostbusters spirit.
What’s Next
We’re just getting started! Through events, fundraising, and collaborations, the Wachusett Ecto Squad will bring positivity and awareness wherever we appear — whether that’s at conventions, community gatherings, or charity drives.
Together, we can raise awareness, spark conversations, and help kids and families know that they are not alone.
